Positioned amidst the awe-inspiring backdrop of a national park lush with wildlife, this course offers an exceptional golf experience. Yes it is a nine hole course, but it has been designed for eighteen holes of play by introducing alternate tee locations on a number of holes.

Hole 1

Par 4, 313m, index 4.

Welcome to the opening hole with a slightly up hill dog leg left. Leave your driver in the bag unless you can hit a 230m with a strong draw, otherwise you'll end up amongst the tress straight ahead. A conservative player will hit an initial 180m past the tree on the left leaving a 140m approach shot to a small green with a run off to the sides and back.

Hole 2

Par 3, 149m, index 10.

Played from the top tee this is a straight forward hole. That is, to be played straight forward. Hitting to the left will end up in Curlew Park amongst the trees and hitting right will end up on the 1st fairway. So, play straight forward!

Hole 3

Par 5, 504m, index 2.

Initially a narrow fairway bordered by trees with signature large bolders in the middle of the fairway 280m out. The fairway opens out deceptively, to be treated as a fairly resonable dog leg left. Taking the center of the fairway route inevitably means ending up in the trees on the right due to the strong left to right roll. The green is a largish, twin level green with varying undulations and can be very fast. This is a challenging green.

Hole 4

Par 3, 127m, index 16.

As the index suggests this is an easy hole, over-hitting being the only trap. Play to the center of the green regardless of the pin position.

Hole 5

Par 3, 76m, index 12.

The shortest hole on the course, but that doesn't mean the easiest! As Greg Norman once said "You are hitting downhill, about 10m drop, but you must clear a vast gully. Fairly big green, but if you miss you are out of bounds or in the creek. An absolute gem of a hole."

Hole 6

Par 4, 228m, index 8.

Although the green is reachable with a good drive, it is up hill, over the two trees on the left to a very small green with a 3m drop off the front and right, with huge bolders at the back and out-of-bounds closely to the left. Better to hit a 170m lay-up shot!

Hole 7

Par 3, 142, index 12.

Although surrounded by a hill on the right, a path leading to the creek on the left and a grass bunker at the front, it is a fairly large green and quite attackable.

Hole 8

Par 4, 269m, index 18.

A dog leg right around a tree'd corner, the easiest hole on the course. It can be approached with a straight drive leaving the ball safely to the left of the green, or hit with a slight slice to end up directly in front of the green between the left and right grass bunkers, or directly attack the green up and over the trees.

Hole 9

Par 4, 395m, index 6.

Drive to the left of the trees at 160m and 200m, leaving a longish approach shot to a large, flat green. Although big hitters fly the ball over those trees to land safely on the fairway with a chip and putt birdie opportunity.

Hole 10

Par 4, 313m, index 5.

You are now repeating the first hole, but from a different tee, removing the dog leg left of the 1st. A straight drive up a gradual inclide to a small green that slopes off the back and sides.

Hole 11

Par 3,  129m, index 16.

Even though this hole is short the second time around becuase you are teeing from the bottom tee, you don't ahve the height advantage of the 2nd and will likely use the same club. Curlew Park and the 1st fairway are yet again a popular scenic route.

Hole 12

Par 5, 504m, index 1.

Identical tee position as when played as the 3rd. It's still a narrow fairway, still lots of trees, those rocks aren't any softer and the fairway's left to right slope still needs to be allowed for. It's a tricky little hole.

Hole 13

Par 3, 149m, index 16.

From this elevated tee you are as close as you can get to the national park allowing you to experience the natural sounds of our island, with a view to the yatchs sailing Cleaveland Bay. This is the most beautiful hole on the course.

Now hit the ball!

Hole 14

Par 3, 107m, index 12.

Again hitting up and over the creek to the moderate sized green 10m below, but because you are just that little bit further back the hazard and out-of-bounds areas on the left and right come into play a bit more.

Hole 15

Par 4, 228m, index 8.

Although a different tee position this hole is effectively the same as the 6th. You may have noticed the first time round how easy it is to come off the front of the green. Beware!

Hole 16

Par 4, 228m

Played from a different tee making this hole slightly longer, but fairly much the same as the first time around: attacking the green is the best strategy.

Hole 17

Par 4, 278m, index 17.

Slightly longer making it just that little easier to hit the back tree if you don't hit a full shot when going over, but otherwise an easy hole.

Hole 18

Par 4, 406m, index 7.

The strategy is the same as when played as the 9th, down the fairway to the left of the center trees or over the top. You may have also noticed how tight the fairway is to the left, in fact the out-of-bounds markers are deceptively close on the left hand side close to the green, so beware.

The most redeeming feature of this hole is that it's the last! Buy a drink at the bar and enjoy reliving this surprisingly tricky little golf course!
